Though few people knew about the ClanBase GameZero Q4 1v1 Cup to begin with, some very well known European players like HELL, sl1p!, sorax and DreamCatcher battled against each other for the second HostedCup title. Not dropping a single map throughout the entire tournament, Anton-Aaron "dignitas/HELL" Jones really swept through the tournament leaving the rest of the field in his dust. Even in the finals match between himself and smael "x6|sl1p" Rivera, Jones won by quite a sizable margin. It's a shame we couldn't have seen this kind of performance at WSVG Toronto or Dallas, both events Jones missed.

"The tournament was pretty cool. Shame about a few people that would lose a game and then drop out of it, but you can't prevent that. Sometimes it'd get a bit rocky aswell with not as many admins around, but the ones who were did their best" Jones said about the tournament. "I enjoyed it a lot; I guess I must have as I continued until the very end."

After we talked about the competition, I asked Jones what the state of Quake 4 is in Europe and he told me:

"Quake 4 in Europe is still around of course, but a few people question its future, which is totally understandable. I just hope it picks up again or we have more tournaments to look forward to again in the near future, otherwise it looks like everyone will be moving onto UT3, like I will be doing."

Nonetheless, all competitors played very well, and with the EuroCup just around the corner, Europe won't be without more Quake 4 action for long.
