Koscheck > Lytle - by boring his opponent to death.
Tyson Griffin > Marcus Aurelio - Should be a really good fight, could go either way.
Ricardo Almeida > Patrick Cote - This is the hardest match for me to call. I really want to pick cote, but I think that it's a lot harder to keep a fight standing than it is to keep it on the ground and if he stays on the floor with almeida for too long he'll get subbed. If it stays on the feet Cote will probably get a KO.
Joe Stevenson > Gleison Tibau
Melvin Guillard > Denis Siver
Cole Miller > Jorge Gurgel - If it was pre-UFC Jorge Cole gets destroyed, but he's been subpar since he was on TUF.
#3 shogun had TWO torn ACLs going into that fight. The reason you haven't seen him fighting again since then is because he's been in and out of surgery and rehabilitation. Forrest is a good fighter but that fight wasn't really an accurate benchmark of either of their skills.
Forrest is definitely going to try to clinch and use his height to his advantage since that's how most of his losses have come. He knows it's probably his only chance. I think Rampage has improved too much to let forrest catch him that way though. Forrest is tough so he will probably last until late in the second at least I would guess. Eventually he's going to lose though.
here's to rampage killing f.griffin~ i agree with all of your preds aether minus the cote fight ... i'm leaning more towards him getting the k.o should be some good ones.
This is a great card #9. Aurelio vs Griffin is a great matchup, cote vs almeida is really good too. The main event should also be awesome even if Rampage is expected to win because both of those guys put on a show every time they fight. Lytle vs koscheck is a decent matchup, koscheck is boring but if lytle can stuff his takedowns the standup should be entertaining. Gurgel vs Miller is also probably going to be a great display of jiu jitsu.
Jiu jitsu and standup wars, the classic ko puncher vs the BJJ black belt, and a couple hard to call fights. I'm looking forward to it.
most people think it's a bad card simply because they haven't heard of the majority of these fighters. Almeida and Aurelio are both top level PRIDE fighters.
its actually a good card, I think the Rampage/Griffin fight is gonna be a good one, although the better fights are going to be the Stevenson/Tibau and the Almeida/Cote fights. They really could go either way. Stevenson has been on a roll since TUF and Cote has won his last few fights.
Thirty Eighth will always live on :: #38thip :: Clan Urban Legends -uL .. forever
IDK, from what i could see when i wasn't busy serving 100 people, it looked to me like it was 2-2 going into the 5th round - griffin seemed to be the aggressor for the entire fight though.
i agree that rampage won 1, 3 and 4. the last judges score was like a 3-4 point gap though which is completely retarded... wtf did he go have a smoke during the 3rd round or something?
oh and how about the JOSH KOSCHECK VS. CHRIS LYTLE fight, that ref let the dude damn near bleed to death, which was awesome, where was he for the tito vs. shamrock fight...
I can see it being called a tie because Forrest probably deserved a 10-8 for round 2, but I don't see how anyone could possibly score that 49-46 that's just crazy. 48-46 isn't THAT far off if they give forrest 10-8 for round 2 and score round 4 and 5 in his favour. That's debatable. Either way in a title fight the challenger usually has to win definitively and I don't really think that happened. I would have said it was 47-47 and Rampage keeps his belt.

Gonzaga > Justin McCully
Corey Hill > Justin Bucholtz
I love forrest but I don't think he can beat rampage
I hate koschek even though hes good, so I hope he loses
I'm gonna go with kote, stevenson, guillard, gurgel, gonzaga and hill
glhf
rampage > forest 4th round tko (i can hope for an upset here)
lytle > koscheck 2nd round triangle
cote > almeida 1st round tko
stevenson > tibau 2nd round kneebar
gonzaga > mccully could be decent if mccully shows up and fights like he used to
gurgel > miller 3rd round armbar
hill = bucholtz i see this one being lackluster

jackson is such a beast though :\
