Week three of European Nations Championship 2008 is underway with the Netherlands meeting France and Poland playing Russia. The Swedish side has been highly favoured for this tournament and many expect it to lift the trophy. With three players from fnatic and two from SK Gaming, the Scandinavian squad has done its job in the group stage, winning rather easily the games played so far. The UK, on the other hand, is still pointless in the league after two games, and only a marvellous display will see it getting anything out of this game. Spain has been the surprise package of the tournament following wins over both German and British squads. With a roster composed by players from x6tence and Nextlevel, Spain has high hopes for this tournament and wants to reach the finals for the first time in the history of the competition. The Iberian nation will play Finland, who has only tasted defeat in the tournament and another disappointment will most likely put in jeopardy its chances of at least finishing in third place. Group A will end with a clash between Germany and Norway. The NationsCup champion proved a strong figure against Finland last week after a disappointing start to its ENC campaign. With Germany now featuring a roster without any mousesports player, its chances of winning the competition are now smaller, but it will always be, nonetheless, a squad to look out for. Its opponent this week will be Norway, who failed to impress against Sweden last week and is in need of the points to stay in the mid-table places. Group B will see a mouth-watering derby taking place between Poland and Russia. The Polish side, current defending champion, lost its first game in the competition and will have a hard task ahead if it wants to finish in first place in its group. Russia, meanwhile, has been very strong and comes into this game with a perfect 4/0 map record.
