Counter-Strike: wNv capitalizes on SK to take World Ranking

With only one major event recently, the GotFrag World Rankings didn't have a lot to work with but still a lot has happened. From the continued dominance of the Asian teams to the question marks around SK.swe; everything combined for an interesting ranking result.

The Asians have finally done it; they have the top spot in the World. wNv claimed the top spot after its brilliant play at WEG. Still they face terrible competition in China for a spot in ESWC. They’ll need to not only win the qualifier but repeat their performance at ESWC to stay up top for long. They weren’t the only Asian team though as two Korean teams also move up with Hacker.PK defeating fellow Asian team Lunatic for a spot at ESWC. Hacker.PK fell in at fourth behind second place WEG finisher Complexity and fnatic who tops the European rankings. Below Hacker.PK is Catch Gamer and then WEG disappointment SK.swe. Now the other Korean Lunatic sit right above a tie for 8th with NiP and 3D both awaiting the next big event to prove themselves.

WEG turns out profitable in the North American rankings for Complexity. They were able to do what past American teams were unable to do, win. 3D continues to follow behind having not played a meaningful LAN game in a while. Below was a very confused mess as EG, the new JMC, u5 and zEx all traded spots on everyone’s ranking. In the end EG pulled out on top while JMC managed to hold off u5 and zEx in an extremely close race.

A mess has been created in the wake of a SK.swe meltdown in China. Europe has no clue who to vote for and it was evident from the results. On top fnatic pulled out a 3 point victory over Catch-Gamer as the Norwegians 4th place finish at WEG wasn’t enough to convince people they were the best in Europe. SK.swe still held onto 3rd even with their debacle at WEG. NiP seems to be a huge question mark as they drop three spots in the previous ranking and then jump back up a spot this week at the expense of mouz. Speaking of mouz their question marks and poor play inside of Germany have people wondering. Germany has another team who is coming on strong in online play Alternate aTTax grabbing the 10th spot. They were just behind the fast falling NoA who looked awful in WEG play.
