Make or break it time for twenty some odd CEVO-Professional hopefuls.
It's that time of the year again. That special time when the whole remainder of your season could be rendered insignificant if you hiccup or hesitate for a moment. Professional placement has always been an edge of your seat thrilling tournament, if for no other reason than it has implications that will affect teams for months to come. The big difference between CEVO-Professional and CEVO-Amateur, beside the obvious monetary disparity, is a difference of competition, a difference of prestige. The new weeklong format will only add to the tournament's cut throat nature as matches will be played over four consecutive nights with a different map each time.
Because only four teams kept their Professional spots from Season 1, twelve vacancies need to be filled by way of this placement event. In breaking that down, it means that any team making it into upper bracket round 3 is automatically entered in CEVO-Professional. This is true because any upper three winner would be a top bracket final four team while any upper three loser would be dropped into lower three, thus becoming a final twelve team regardless. As a result, eight teams will earn their CEVO-P bids tonight on mp_crash. Stay tuned for live score updates throughout the evening and for the remainder of the week.
